The Goonies - Classic remake on AROS

This is a remake of one of Konami classics: The Goonies.

This game was made by Konami in 1986. There were both a NES version and an MSX version of the game; this remake is based on the MSX Version.
The remake was made for the 2006 competition organized by Retro Remakes.

The port was handled by (kas1e), and it's based on the OS4 and MorphOS earlier ports.

Story:
The action takes place in the sleepy seaside town of Cauldron Point - down in an area known as the Goon Docks. The Goonies are a group of local kids - Mikey, Brand, Mouth, Chunk and Data. One day they find an old treasure map in Mikey's attic. Data figures that this must be the fabulous hidden treasure of the notorious local pirate, One-Eyed Willy. The girls, Andy and Stef, join the other Goonies and the adventure begins. But the secret underground tunnels they are exploring are actually the hideout of the Fratelli Gang, and the Goonies are soon trapped! The Goonies have a powerful ally on their side, however, in the form of the huge and amiable Sloth.

Update: Current version is 0.17 and has been compiled by Kioniro. (18/03/2013)

Release notes:
This release is all about wrapping the core gameplay in main menus, pushing Flare closer to feature-completeness. Now players have four game slots to experiment with different builds. Also, choose your gender and a portrait for your hero or heroine!

Check out the game website: http://clintbellanger.net/rpg

Kitty gets a STK driver license

Tom Wright has provided the AROS Community with its own STK mascot. That's right Kitty gets its own apperance with SuperTuxKart. At first it was only available for versions 0.71+ of STK, which ruled out AROS.

But the STK Kitty kart has finally reached AROS.
João Ralha has been able to export Tom Wright model to AC3D file format, done some bug-fixing, altered the mascot icon to 3d (Version 0.62 presents all mascots in 3D render format) and the way she goes!...

You can download the 0.62 version (AROS compatible) here.
And the 0.71+ version here (for all the more recent versions on other platforms.)

Here are some videos of our beloved OS mascot in driving action:

Road Fighter - action on the road!

This game was developed for the RETRO-REMAKES REMAKE COMPETITION
organized by http://www.remakes.org hoping to win a prize! ;)

AROS port compiled on 3rd June 2011 with SDL Lib 1.2.14, By Luke Jerry!
The AROS version can be downloaded at AROS-ARCHIVES (Sources and makefile included in the archive).

If you want to know more about this game, you can visit:
http://www.braingames.getput.com

In Road Fighter you drive a car. It is a death-race between you and a group of
crazy drivers.

The game is divided in 6 stages. In each stage, the goal is to reach the
checkpoints before your car runs out of fuel. Easy? You may think so, but there
are many obstacles between your car and the checkpoints:

- Green cars: these drivers are unlucky enough to be on the
same road where your crazy race is taking place.
- Blue cars: your adversaries, you can usually go faster than them. But don't be
so sure, they can surprise you!
- Pink cars: suicide drivers. These cars will try to crash into you when you
             pass them.
- Trucks: you'd better avoid them
- Water: will brake your car
- Oil: wil make your car skid
- Rocks: you shouldn't crash on a rock... if you can!

During the race, you should try not to hit the borders of the road. But
some of the other cars will try to make you crash...

Another important issue is the fuel. You should try to collect all the fuel
recharges that you can during the game. They are represented by the pink hearts.
